The history
of horses is closely connected with the history of mankind.
For several
centuries men exploited the strength of the horse in different ways:
agriculture, transport and war.
Men had
reprogrammed their natural instinct to flee (from predators), breaking them in
to become useful for their various tasks.
Technical
developments have ended the use of the horse in industry and agriculture.
Horses are
nowadays used in competition and therapy.
They pamper present day man’s need for well being and consumerism.
The horse
is willing to accept our wishes- it doesn’t obey but co-operates with the
rider. This surely demands our respect
of the animal.
After
centuries of service to man the horse has become totally dependant on humans.
As a
result, we, who are in close contact with them, fully appreciate our
responsibility being on a daily basis confronted by their attentive, gentle and
good-natured characters.
